World’s first banknote with a denomination of 88 cents.

The design is inspired by the Chinese culture’s love of the number 8. In Chinese, the number 8 is pronounced as “fa,” meaning “fortune.”

This 88-cent legal tender note was sold at a premium for 28 Fijian dollars.

A total of 3,600,000 notes were produced.
